It strikes me that it's strange that they had to go to this character destructive plot to reach this because, really, this is where NFA left things. Angel had pretty much taken a 'kill them all' attitude that could have had as potentially as destructive outcome as what we have here. All they really had to do was disavow the IDW stuff or fudge around the edges saying that it was an aftereffect of LA having been dragged into hell.

Basically, they didn't have to make Angel this strupid and self-centered to have accomplished the same plot location.
