First off, I wrote a book, it's called "Doing Time on Planet Earth" and you can find it HERE. If you scroll down, you'll find my author bio.
Here's my motto: "When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying, ‘You’re too this, or I’m too this.’ That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.” Ram Dass a.k.a. Richard Alpert (b. 1931), American spiritual teacher and author
Friend or not friend as you wish. No need to tell me. Most of my posts are public, so if I don't friend back it's not a major issue. I'll usually lock posts that deal directly with my personal life, where I talk about family, personal friends, my health, or entail anything work related. I friend those journals that I find interesting or want to keep up with or fit my mood, there's no rule. I'm a moody writer and reader.
This journal is more or less self-explanatory - it's exactly as the title suggests = spontaneous musings. Basically whatever pops into my head that I feel an overwhelming urge to ruminate over or figure out via the practice of writing about it. Writing is how I handle stress and tension. Since I write my posts directly into the journal box and rarely write them ahead of time, they are not proofed or edited. Also they do not necessarily come from a place of knowledge so much as curiousity - so there may be factual errors. I do not profess to be an expert nor is this meant to be anything other than a journal. What you see is a first draft - right out of my head. I also tend to write metaphorically, I think that way. So most of what I say should not, I repeat, be taken "literally". I use metaphors, analogies for everything. Expect to see typos. And if I decide I do not like a post I've written or even a discussion thread, I will delete it regardless of how many comments it has received. I may or may not respond to comments posted due to time constraints, etc.
Please when commenting in this journal, be mindful of my blood pressure and don't send it sky-rocketing to the stratosphere. (grin) What this means is: Do not post icons that are inflammatory or anti-women or promote violence against them -the use of such tactics will get you deleted and banned. Also don't demand that people provide proof of their statements or opinions with links (requests are fine, demands aren't) - this is not meant to be a journalistic blog, where everything is backed up by proof. It's just for fun. (Don't mind opinions, but save the inflammatory rants against me and my interests for your own journal, where I can be blissfully unaware of them if I so choose.). In short, take off your shoes, wipe your feet on the welcome mat, bring a smile and a reasonable sense of humor. Thanks muchly.
