As the unhappy recipient of Fury's "go write letters proposing to serial killers" post, I can say that Fury's snark wasn't appreciated (especially since he was completely bypassing the argument that the 'soul' was just a writing construct that didn't actually mean anything) It seemed easier for Fury to snark and insult with put-downs rather than actually think about what was being said. It was just easier to mischaracterize as a way of snarky put-down.
Of course, I didn't actually realize it was the real David Fury at that time. I wasn't familiar with the Bronze and with his asshole behavior I honest to God thought he was just an obnoxious board troll. I didn't realize until later, when someone else told me, that that had really been a writer from the show. At that time, I couldn't imagine a show representative behaving that unprofessionally.
