shows...I find interesting, but weirdly don't care what happens to anyone in them.

That is getting to be a problem these days.

What everyone likes is different. Personally, a lot of what went on in the last few seasons of Buffy didn't appeal to me all that much. But I did care about the characters.

I'd been watching Bones through thick and thin through nine seasons. This year the tenth season started with killing off a long term character. They tried very hard in the episode to get viewers to care about it. But frankly I realized I didn't care at all. I had to ask myself why I was still watching the show when I cared so little about what happened. I haven't seen an episode of Bones since.
