No, the main storyiine or plot thread isn't making much sense at the moment.
While Cruella's backstory did work for me - and was actually pretty good (it almost saved the episode), the on-going plot surrounding her backstory - with Emma, Regina, Gold, etc...doesn't work at all.
It's a shame - because I really like the concept of a rogue author who manipulates other characters stories with a magical pen and magical ink, only to find himself trapped inside his own book - by one of the characters, whose gotten fed up with his antics. That's a cool idea. But dang it - they aren't executing it well.
One of my difficulties with OUAT is they come up with great ideas, but can't seem to get them well-executed.
