Lucifer -- S3 ..latest episode
I don't know which episode we are on or the title. Pathetic, I know. But there it is.
Probably in the minority on this, but I liked the last three episodes or stand-a-alone's better. Procedurals don't quite work for me. And this was heavily procedural and my attention kept wandering. Also Lucy acting like a self-obsessed idiot started getting old mid-way through.
That said there were a few gems tucked away in there that furthered the plot and characters.
* Chloe and Lucy play monopoly with Trixie. Lucy wants to be the top hat, he believes that is who he is -- Trixie insists he be the shoe or submit to face painting. Later, he steals the shoe from the game...thinking, maybe Trixie has a point. He should explore the shoe.
And spends most of the episode being overlooked or dissed in favor of Chloe. His ego beaten down a tad.
* Also the mystery of the week is about a man similar to Lucifer, and the smart woman behind him who he killed.
* Charlotte is driving Ella nuts trying to figure out how to become a good person. It's amusing in a way, and annoying in a way. But good Ella and Charlotte moments. And at the end, Charlotte decides to take a job with the DA. (Does this mean more emphasis on the procedural aspects? Please no. The writers suck at this stuff.)
* Amen and Dr. Linda. (Hmmm...apparently, I was right and Reese did die this year and in last week's episode and he did not start the episode in hell like people thought. Because this week she was planning his memorial service. Which means he died recently not last year. Although I guess he could have relived what happened in hell and it had happened this year and recently...I don't know. Not important.)
Anyhow...Resse's death has made Dr. Linda fear the after-life. Don't blame her. I personally prefer the reincarnation view to the Christian take. I find the Christian and Jewish takes annoying.
Amen gives her perspective. By lying on beach looking at the stars. She quotes Wild to Lucy, and Lucy launches into a tale about how he gave Wild that line, and is sick of having it quoted back to him.
LOL!.
Sigh, miss Maze. Less Ella more Maze.
