I haven't sat and listen to a State of the Nation for years and years.
Having politcos dutifully applaud for their party's favorite ideas each and
every time they are mentioned drives me nuts, no matter which party.
I think the only one I've listened to in my lifetime was Obama, and even
that was rarely and I didn't usually make it all the way through. More or
less for the same reasons.
Obama at least was a decent speaker, so was Clinton and Regan...the others,
ugh. (Again in my lifetime -- I have no memory of anyone prior to Carter.)
