what is the deal with the "skinny" jean fad? People denim tights is not cool. It only looks cool on people who have the physique of Kate Moss Everyone else looks ....well, bulgy in them. Also they are really uncomfortable to put on and take off, it's like pulling on tights... I did manage to find some bootleg curvy jeans...What is with the torn denim style?...Why can't they design jeans for adults not ten year olds?...That and the no pockets thing in women's pants. Ugh.
I am so with you on this. Why wear skinny jeans, just wear leggings if you want things that tight? Cheaper and more comfortable. Make pants actually useful with enough coverage to keep your ass from hanging out of it, pockets, and no shredding. I don't get it either -- why wear something that is halfway to the incinerator?
I'm reminded of a news story from a few weeks ago talking about how H&M had so much overstock for its stores that they were burning their inventory in Scandinavia for energy usage. Talk about a waste. I get that it's very tough to anticipate consumer demand. But I can't wait for the day when most clothing will come to order. Your measurements, colors, etc. Stuff will get made that already has a buyer and buyers will get something useful. It's so possible at this point thanks to online shopping. And then clothing manufacturers can use all that accumulated data to get an idea of what consumers actually want and will wear in order to better produce the stuff waiting in stores.
I've gotten a handful of comments at LJ over this past year. I mean, sure there are posts made here at DW too that get no comments but it is crickets over there for sure, probably because the people who did comment there are largely doing it here now. Of course, I'm also not making comments over there because I'm not seeing much that I'm not already seeing here so I expect that's connected. I continue posting there largely because it's just a ticky box in the posting process so why not. But I don't imagine my account would be much missed at this point.
