I was never able to do it after the fact. I tried with the Farscape and Sense8 fandoms, but gave up. It was impossible.

Buffy fandom was admittedly different, in part, because we had the comics, and they sort of left it open-ended, which if you were fanfic person -- lent itself to a lot of stories. I did stick with the fandom until roughly...2010 -2012, in part because of that.
