Sorry, still not buying it. It would have been more terrifying and far less likely to kill your own people, to go kill Cersei and set off the wildfire under the city after the Bells rung. Also, added plus? You keep your allies faithful and fearful. They can't see you as basically crazy. Dany isn't a terrorist and even terrorists are far more strategic.

Only an idiot would randomly fly their dragon around burning everything in site.

We're going to have to respectfully agree to disagree here. It's sort of like the last episode of Buffy -- I didn't think that plan worked either. I'm never going to forget thinking...seriously, honey, it's not the foggy dark north that you can't see anything, go kill Cersei, set off the wildfire. This is boring and gratitutious.
