My mother wants me to retire to South Carolina and I've said, eh no. I don't want to live in the South or on an island in the South. Not now.
The North does get storms, but I prefer blizzards. You don't have to evacuate and snow is easier to navigate than flooding.
And Florida should be used to it by now -- each Hurricane is either threatening to go through Central Florida, the West Coast or the East, and they never seem to know where and it's always going to be apocalyptic, and it never is. My Aunts used to freak out, they don't now. Neither do my parents...they've all gotten used to it.
