First Day Jitters

Well, I survived my first day as a temporary consultant. Didn't get a chance to go on the computer to see the software - since they hadn't hooked it up yet. It's Lotus Notes, which I'm not that familar with, so this should be interesting. Also got to learn scanning. I've a had a long day of twiddling my thumbs, reviewing and sorting through things, and waiting on computers to be set up. Still a little nervous about all this.

Okay deep breath.

When I got home, I found a message on my phone from a publishing company for sub rights assist. job - so I'm going to have to find a way tomorrow of calling them at this temp job and setting up an interview. (These are the days I wish I had a cell phone.) That said, this company is *very* laid-back. As long as I do my work, they don't care. I hope. Besides, I'm a temp, no benefits, I have to look out for myself. Don't have energy to apply to more jobs tonight, so going to wait until the weekend maybe to do it. Have several possibilities in the email bin that should be applied to before the end of the month.

In more entertaining news - TV shows I'm watching this summer:

1. Nip/Tuck at 10pm on FX
2. The 4400 on USA, Sundays at 9pm (this is actually a *very* good show, sort of the X-Files meets Taken or something like that. Considering I'm not a huge fan of alien shows or alien abuductions, the fact I like this baby says something. It's very character focused.
Not too plotty. And some great performances.)
3. The West Wing reruns on Bravo at 7pm
4. Monk on USA
5. Stargate Atlantis - maybe - it conflicts with Monk.
6. The Dead Zone on USA after The 4400

I have tried the Grid, does nothing for me, too close to what's going on, too plotty, not character focused.

Okay off. Not spending much time online this week. Busy with the whole job deal.

I knew the minute I cancelled cable something great would come along I want to see. Well, I'll hope for this to come out on DVD some day!

I think it might be a limited series. Of course if it does *really* well they may expand it to an actual series. Either way - it'll be on netflix by next year at the latest. So not to worry.

I'm not taping it. So it's good, but not Angel/BTVS
obsession good. I can miss an episode.
