It's hard to see all the cracks from a far, I think?
In the US - climate change is kind of the least of the problems at the moment.
It's sort of like looking at a neighbor's lawn or house, and thinking I really wish they'd change that security system - the alarm is driving me nuts, when the neighbor's house is being broken into nightly or they are fighting off a nasty husband and keep pushing the button as a means of getting rid of that husband.
So what you're seeing is not the whole picture? All you have to do is watch the Governor of NY's press briefings daily - to see all the cracks. The Federal Government has done nothing to help in this crisis. All they've done is make everything worse. And there were lots of opportunities presented to them - early on. Such as giving money to the states, not the corporations. Bailing out the state health care and infrastructure not the airlines. And giving checks to the people struggling, not those who don't need them. Not to mention funding the CDC so that there were enough tests available early on. Etc. Etc.
Less people would be dead in the US if any of the above had been done.
They've done every thing wrong. The massive scale of their failure is overwhelming in a way.
There are people registering to vote right now that haven't voted in years.
