As stated above, Black Sails does not end on a cliffhanger, and I personally feel that S1 may have been the most violent, but really there's a good bit of it throughout the series. The characters all go through a lot by the time we get to the end so feelings about them may shift along the way.

Flint was my favorite though. I love competency and good planners.
