Day 152

I'm not doing much today besides watching television, sleeping, playing on the laptop. You'd think I'd want a day off from it - I'm on it all week long. Well - that will most likely be Monday - when I have no electricity.

Family

Mother called this morning - she was worried about visiting my Dad in the hospital. He was running a low fever, but it's probably just the UTI and congestive heart failure. Not COVID - which he tested "negative" for.
The whole COVID thing is beyond confusing.

I know a lot of people now who have had it and recovered or are in varying stages of recovery. And their experiences with it, testing, and how it is being treated are not reassuring. I'm also furious at the idiots out there who refuse to take it seriously.

Me: Can you visit him, now? Are they letting you? I mean he doesn't have COVID, it's unlikely you do -
Mother: Well, yes, true. But I know people who have tested positive while their spouses haven't, or they got horrible cases and their spouses mild ones..
Me: Still.
Mother: No, no, they are allowing me to visit now. I'm just hesitant. Also you have to call first - although you brother told me that I should just go and see what happens, but I'm supposed to be quaranting although I called management and they said I could go to the hospital, just not anywhere else and be guarantined.
ME: How are they going to stop you from going to Publix (the grocery store)?
Mother: It's honor system -
Me: Exactly. If you decide to go to the pharmacy or grocery store afterwards..
Mother: I don't need to - I have plenty of food and they can deliver, besides I need to lose weight.
Me: I feel for my poor father, he's all alone.
Mother: Maybe I will..
Me: I think you'd feel better if you did. That is if you can.
Mother: I can..

Four hours later. Mother texts me that she visited my father but he is sleeping.

My father has had congestive heart failure before and survived it. Several times now actually. Just means he now has to go back on the water pills, which he hates (he has to pee all the time) and he has a UTI - so even worse.

Thank you for all the kind words to the previous post.

Crazy Company vs. the Corona Virus

I got a message from our occupational safety department regarding neck gaiters - they are investigating to see if the gaiters are unsafe. And advise that people wearing them - fold them over twice so it's a thicker layering, and don't use them if they have to talk to anyone in person. (I kind of figured that out early on - they are too thin to be highly effective, I have one per my cousin's suggestion - the same cousin who got COVID.) My parents were given them - and I convinced my brother to send them the blue medical masks.

Meanwhile they are still putting together the video collage to say goodbye to Lando, I appear to be, ironically, doing the best at responding to it.
Mainly because I'll miss him and he really helped me. There's not many people in this world who will go out of their way to help others, but Lando is one of them. The world unfortunately has too many demons and not enough angels, or rather too many people giving into the demonic side of their nature.

The latest? They want everyone to do a final wave. It didn't go by email, so I sent by text. Also I had to do it twice.

I hate how I look on camera, but...I've decided it doesn't matter. I don't care what others think. Looks are a subjective thing anyhow.

Anyhow, the least I can do is help the angels as much as possible and be grateful that I continue to surround myself with them. I've managed to avoid the demons - when I come across them, I've managed to get out and away fast.

Crazy Company may be a lot of things - but it isn't evil.
