January Meme

Because I didn't know about it until March?

1. What’s one question you hate being asked?

What's your weight? I've always struggled with my weight. It's annoying.

2. Has the media influenced your view on the world?

Yes and no. I'm a critical thinker - so I tend to question the media's views on things, and figure things out on my own by talking to actual humans. For example - I know that the media's take on china is what it is actually. I've met and talked to people from China. Same with the acting profession, etc.

3. What could make other people angry about you?

I have a biting and somewhat snarky sense of humor and like to mock things. I mock myself, I mock others, I mock situations. Also a somewhat morbid sense of humor. This does piss folks off.

Also I'm aggressive, opinionated, and will argue a point - often to death.
I'm very...lawyerly.

4. Do you miss anything from your teenage years?

Hmm. I miss my cats. We had two. Siamese. I miss them. I also miss sitting in my bean bag chair listening to music with them. And I miss doing theater. Also family trips - we went interesting places. Plus there was a trip to an amusement park which stands out, during it - I stayed at a friends house and discovered the Rush album with Tom Sawyer on it, which blew me away. Oh, and I enjoyed my two month excursion overseas to France by myself at the age of 16.

Other than that - nothing. It's also mostly a blur.

5. What about your current life situation makes you feel grateful?

I have a job. I have enough money to be financially independent. I have food. I have a nice and spacious apartment. I can talk to my mother twice a day. I have friends, and I get along with my co-workers. I like my job for the most part.

6. What is distracting you?

Fear for my parents, who are sick and separated and far far away. The pandemic. The crazy federal government. The evil Republican Party that is responsible for every single horrible thing that has happened since 2016.

7. What past failure actually proved to be a blessing?

Drawing a blank. I'm certain there is one. But I can't think of it at the moment.

8. Do you often make impulsive purchases?

Rarely if ever. I tend to over-think things. It's why I don't own that much. I hate making decisions. And I hate returning things.

9. What makes you suspicious of other people?

See other questions

10. Do you enjoy dystopian future books/movies?

Not at the moment. We're in a dystopian universe at the moment - hello pandemic. So that would be a definitive no.

11. Do you have any recurring dreams?

Yes.

12. Do you like to be the center of attention?

No. Actually I'm suspicious of people who do - so that might be the right answer to question 9?

13. What would you miss if you stopped using your smartphone for 48 hours?

Audible and Headspace Mindfulness app. Although I have gone longer than 48 hours without looking at it. Another answer for question 9 - people who can't get off their phones.

14. Looking back over the last year what are you most grateful for?

Surviving? Greenwood Cemetery? My family surviving? My friends and coworkers surviving? My job surviving? Basically survival. We survived 2020, that in of itself was an accomplishment.
