I found a Torchwood a little more interesting - just because it had more of an ensemble cast, and was less anthology related. But, I also know there were issues with it - so it may be harder to resurrect.
Agreed on Foundation - my brother and I agreed that there was far too much confusing exposition and world-building - which made it drag and difficult to follow. I got lost, and kind of bored. But I did like how the first episode ended - so will try another episode. Sci-fi is hard to do well - because the writer can get caught up in all the world-building and forget the characters.
