I've managed to switch over 70 works from Ao3 to SquidgeWorld, I only have...395 to go. God, I'm hating Ao3 about now.
There was a way this misunderstanding could have been easily avoided. If they were a heck of lot smarter at coding than they actually are - they could have put in blocks to anything that was outside specific parameters. Fanfic.net has blocks in place, as do other platforms. You can't post reviews to Instagram or Pininterest or even Facebook effectively, they have character limits. Also if you have a bandwidth issue? Easy fix - stop it at so many works.
But expecting your users to know what you mean by "transformative" work is ludicrous. Lawyers and judges don't even know - it's a legal term that can be argued multiple ways.
I mean "transformative" work is not clear to anyone.
Just clarify what you don't want. They used to - prior to 2020, they said it was just for fanfic. Then they asked for meta, and when they got more than they wanted? They got obnoxious.

Mother called and informed me that niece's big trip across the country to Sequoia National Park has been postponed due to COVID. Niece and her parents all caught it from her friend L. Apparently L visited, had a cold, and it turned out to be COVID and gave it to them. L's back in KC now.
My brother apparently worked his ass off this week refurbishing niece's car for a lengthy road trip. Put on a rack, set up a water system, etc.
And now? It's been postponed for at least five days, until they all recover.
So everyone is now sick and disappointed.
Mother and I do not have COVID. We left long before it was spread to folks.
And weren't really around L that much.

It's a beautiful day today. I took a long walk, picked up groceries.
Completed a water color - sort of. Talked to Wales. Talked to Mother.
Took pictures of flowers...
