Why is it that the weekends fly by, but the weekdays drag?

I did manage to draw/set up another watercolor this morning. Revised a bit more of my novel, which is taking forever. I have a lot of book ideas and novels to revise and finish, and no time to do it. They won't write themselves or finish and revise themselves.

Also watched more television that I should have on Saturday. I tend to watch television mostly on Saturdays. And listened to most of the last of the "Edge verse" audiobooks by Illona Andrews. This is "Sword's Edge". There's four of them. The main recurring characters are two teenage boys who we kind of follow throughout their childhood. A couple of characters show up in each other's books, the men more than the female characters. Mainly because the male characters are better drawn. I like the books - they are a kind of genre melting pot/hybrid of science fiction, urban-fantasy, mystery, action, horror, and romance. So I find them unpredictable and innovative in world-building and plot. Plus, the characters are better developed than in most traditionally published books. Andrews self-publishes or independently publishes most of their books with the help of an agent and editor. They are small business owners. Came from poverty and worked their way up.

Also, unlike a lot of commercial writers - they definitely have something to say, and their books feel distinctly different. And they work really well on audible, because they hire kick-ass voice talent.

Been trying hard not to worry about my workplace. I wish things would calm down and they would stop moving people, namely me, around and changing the procedures. Damn. Note to self - never hire a bunch of failed law firm attorneys to manage a state agency or business. Or outside consultants.

I've decided to have a little faith. I've done everything I can think of at the moment. Time to sit back and see how it rolls. And not panic. Que Sera Sera...I feel like listening to that song.. Que Sera Sera from The Man Who Knew Too Much as song by Doris Day..

Almost forgot, I finally went grocery shopping at the Coop for Thanksgiving. I didn't have any issues - because I bought things that no one else would even think of having for Thanksgiving. Wales and I have mutually chosen to go non-traditional this year. (Mainly because neither of us can stomach the idea of a roast chicken, hen, or turkey, or green beans or the rest of it at the moment.) My family has always been rather flexible when it comes to traditions.

I'm fixing Mexican food for Thanksgiving. Bought refried beands, two organic frozen hand-made blue corn vegetable tamales, home made salsa from the farmer's market, spicy greens, blue corn tacos, blue corn and yellow corn chips, grilled chicken slices, and chicken that I can make with cilantro lime, also tomatoes and onions. I already have the cornbread mix for the muffins. Read this off to Wales, she was happy - and volunteered to get the Margarita and the pie. I decided not to worry about the pie - since I'd have to go to her area to get it or make it myself. My area doesn't have any gluten free pies.

Pretty day for it - the trees are finally changing color, and the sun sparkled through the reds, oranges, yellows and greens. We're having a pretty fall - albeit a bit later than usual. Was in the low fifties and upper forties today. No rain. Sunny with clouds. Quite lovely.

On the way back from groceries ran into Monica, the Super's wife, who informed me that they fixed the leak - well for the most part. It had been a damaged drain pipe, also the gutters had to be fixed. They'd fix the gutters on Monday. Then once all that was done, they would fix the ceiling and light fixtures in all six bathrooms. I told them to let me know when - so I could leave out the replacement light bulbs.
