EU is kind of similar to the US, it's a version of it. You can travel and work within the EU, and more or less freely, kind of similar to you can travel and work with the US and in different States, freely.

The only difference is the EU doesn't have a centralized government, instead its a conglomerate of member countries engaged in a union for trade and economic and defense purposes.
