Also a lot of folks attended just to protest it - one woman came all the way from her small town in Georgia to protest at the parade, she felt it would be more useful than being one of many in a protest where she was from.
It did rain, so some things were cancelled (many of the air events) and they are no doubt trying to blame the rain on the poor attendance. But it also rained across the northeast, and heavily in NY, and people came out en mass to protest.
Also, the Army was marching at one point to Creedance Clearwater Revival's hit song Fortunate Son.
Their hearts weren't in it, they shuffled and acted like it was a forced march.
And it was apparently really badly planned and put together - and from those who did attend? Among the worst planned mass events they'd ever been to. A colossal failure.
