We can learn more about one another here, I think? This is more of a correspondence exchange or interactive blog, than a bulletin board set up. I think the problem with Twitter aka X, Bluesky, X, Instagram, Threads, etc...is that it is a marketing platform - set up to promote and market products or people, and not really about discussion or correspondence?

And marketing tends to be very self-involved, I think - or about "me, me, me" and getting paid. There's people making money off of FB, Twitter, etc - and they are all selling a brand.

Here, for the most part, none of us are selling anything. Yeah, some of my feeds - like John Scalzi's blog feed or Smart Bitches - definitely are selling things, but most of us aren't, and that makes the connections more lasting and more genuine than they may be elsewhere?
