No one visits her. No one invites her to dinner.
Honestly, why wouldn't she join up with the Mayor at this point? They were nicer to Kendra. Of course Kendra still had a watcher and didn't stick around.
Add to that? Faith had been traumatized - she lost her Watcher and her parents to vampires. Brutally. And then the new Watcher, who befriended her, went nuts (Post).
Yup, she had plenty of reasons long before the accidental murder of the Mayor's assistant.
