Except? There are some obvious meta bits in there. Also the incel trope is heavy and I do mean heavy in those early seasons. Also they pair him with a "scorned woman" vengeance demon. I'd say it's intentional. Teacher's Pet is kind of heavy-handed on it. (Both boys kidnapped by French feel they have to have a girlfriend to prove their maniliness =incel, and they can't admit they are virgins = incel. Then they do it again in I Robot You Jane, with the guys in the computer lab.) They are not subtle, at all. It's too obvious in places to be unintentional.
I can't watch Last of Us got to the fourth episode, and gave up - too gory, and I had similar issues with Outlander, also I got bogged down in the second half. I may go back to it, eventually. Like I said, I need comforting right now - Last of Us is NOT comforting, nor is Outlander.
