Yeah, from what I've read - television shows and films are seldom if ever filmed in order. The actors often treat them like one act plays, where they do isolated scenes, and prepare based on what they should be showing on that day.

Television isn't quite as bad as film though - often in a film - there can be months, days, weeks, or even a year between scenes.
