People have commented about those letters at Whedonesque, and in fact some touches of the old shipper wars were breaking out there as well. I don't even like to respond or comment on any of that. I got beaten down too many times by the closed minds and over-the-top reactions back during season 6 (actually the worst to me was the summer after season 6). So, yeah, I can see that that is what you were really touching on all of that (actually I think it is smart of Joss to bring out that issue at the beginning and then remind everyone that the hero is Buffy).
