This is really interesting, and makes me want to pick up the magazine. I love reading the thoughts (blogs essays articles whatever) of writers I admire, like Ursula K. Le Guin.
Everyone I know reads a lot, I grew up in a family of readers. Personally I read two to three books a month but I feel like I'm not reading as much as most of my friends, or reading things as 'worthwhile' as they do (most of them read very eclectic mixes of books including all kinds of fiction & non-fiction, while I stick to mostly mysteries and fantasies). But I do know that a lot of people don't read, when I first started baby sitting I was shocked how most of the houses I went to had almost no books, and often only a couple of magazines. I ended up wondering what these people did with themselves? Personally I can never get bored when there is a book around.
