Finally tried that sitcom "Louis" on F/X....

Okay, whomever it was who rec'd the F/X sitcom Louis? You were right. It is hilarious. Haven't laughed at a sitcom that hard in quite some time. Was thoroughly amused. Of course this impression is based on one episode, it's a rare rare thing for me to laugh at a sitcom for more than one episode in a row. [ I think Monty Python is amongst the few. I have very odd sense of humor.]

Regarding Louis? Now, that's how you do sexual comedy, folks. Seriously, that's how you do it. The last time I laughed that hard at a sex joke - was Must Love Dogs rom-com, no wait, it might have been Misfits... yeah, it was probably Misfits.

Louis is sort of NC-17/X-rated version of Seinfield. Except with much more realistic and likable characters and gritter more realistic, less sanitized version of NYC. This is my city!

And yes, I obviously have a very dark sense of humor. Louis is not for everybody. If you didn't like Seinfield or Taxi or well Misfits, you'd hate Louis.

I laughed my head off when the seedy homeless guy charges Louis , who is walking down a New York City sidewalk, and Louis ducks, and homeless guy goes carreeling into an on-coming truck, and gets decapitated, with his head bopping down the street. Louis shell-shocked walks to his date with shallow, skinny, pallid girl who looks a bit Elaine from Seinfield just paler.

Louis is sort of adorable. But seriously dude? Learn how to masturbate, a lot less trouble. Same goes for the gal who asks him out at his kid's school - and makes he go to the store late at night to pick up non-irritant condoms, sexual lubricant, vagisil, and blueberries.

Store clerk: the condoms are behind the store counter (they always are - I've no idea why this is - are they afraid people will steal the condoms?), sexual lubricant is on aisle three, and vagisile is on aisle two just above the tampons, and no we don't have any blueberries.

Louis gets back to the gal - who just wants to have sex. Turns out there's a reason why a good vibrator won't work for her.
She has to be spanked.

It's absurd, yet so true, and hilarious.

I rather like Louis. He's adorable. I want to date Louis. But I think he's attracted to really bizarre and unattractive women. Dude - you need to notice the gals with bit more flesh on their bones and a sense of humor. Just saying. I wouldn't mind dating Louis, he's like a lovable teddy bear with a really absurd and dark sense of humor.

The episode much like Seinfield is bracketed by Louis stand-up act. He talks about how when you reach 43 you are pretty much set for life, you are either married or divorced. Someone argues with him. He argues back: "Hey, I don't care if you can relate with this or not. No one's going to laugh at a story about some dude going out for beer with his friends..." And I'm laughing my ass off again.

I just wish we had a female version of Louis. The closest we've come is Subrogatory and Tessa is a bit too young. I may have to try "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". I rather like these types of comedies.

Now, I need to hunt down other episodes of Louis and DVR them. Because that was hilarious.

[To be fair, Big Bang and Subrogatory were also pretty good this week both got laughs. But not as big a laugh as Louis and American Horror Story - which says a lot about my sense of humor. ]
