also, my controversial opinion: Shakespeare is more populist than bourgeouis - if such a word could fit into Elizabethan society anyways. Given that its a time when "bourgeois" or the Middling sort were regarded as dangerous when they had political opinions - its a bit misleading in my view. It's why Elizabeth forbade playwrights from discussing 'constitutional affairs' on the stage and why one historian argues that Shakespeare moved to writing plays about Roman politics.
