It was fun to watch, and I suspect that's pretty much all it was intended to be. Based on previous Whedon shows, he starts slow and builds up. It's always hard to tell where he's going, just as it was always hard to tell from a Buffy season opener where the season would go -- there were always hints, but they were buried. I'm willing to be patient.
