Yeah, I read rarhirah's interpretation in the other thread. And while I can see why you and rahirah both interpreted it that way and prefer it, it doesn't quite work for me nor do I interpret it that way. (This goes to the whole point of my post - how our interpretations of what we read change the conversation and change the meaning. Each interpretation changing the show, work, etc. Which is kinda cool if you think about it. I honestly do not believe there is one way or a right way to interpret content. Each person brings their own perspective, and own view - making the content far richer as a result and more interesting.)
So thanks for sharing your perception. It explains how you view things. But can you see through my post - how others may have viewed it differently and why it may have bothered them?
I don't think we'll necessarily ever know what Moffat intended, unless he tells us - and where's the fun in that? And even if we did know, is it important? Art changes once it is put out there. After all, my intent in posting this - was not to tell you how to interpret the Doctor Who episode, but to share my thoughts regarding the episode, what fascinated or resonated for me in it, and why. But you just saw that my interpretation was different than yours and felt the need to correct it - missing the intent of my post, completely and changing the conversation completely in the process. (A perfect example by the way of how the listener or reader can change the intent of work by their reaction to it - or the conversation.)
