Like all things that I eat, drink or put in my mouth and digest - my first priority is to check is it gluten-free?
Which is a huge pain.

Hershey is actually one of the safer brands. Their chocolat bars are basically just butter, chocolat, milk and vanilla, not many additives.
Nestle - makes me ill. They put malt in a lot of their products. As does Lindt and many speciality chocolats or the better chocolats. Also, have a caffeine issue - so dark bitter chocolat is not a good bet either (although I do eat it.)

As a result? Limited. I've discovered I can eat hershey plain chocolat bars, almond bars, cadbury crunch bars, aero bars, and Ritter Sport marzipan...

So, less picky about candy bars in the way I used to be. Used to sneer at hershey. Now...sigh, I'm happy I can eat chocolat without getting sick (well except for Reeses Peanut Butter cups apparently.)
