According to my mother neither my brother nor I liked Thanksgiving dinner. I didn't remember that he didn't. She loves stuffing, took me years to figure out that the reason I didn't -- was probably due to the gluten-intolerance. It also doesn't look that appetizing.
Remember making the dish for a friend once, who insisted on bringing her own stuffing, this was before I found out about the gluten-intolerance. ;-)
Not sure the Cornish hens really need basting, since they don't dry out. But doing so, made mine nice and tender and juicy. And yep, don't really need the trussing. So much easier to make than turkey and chicken. And faster too - - only took an hour.
Then stuffed myself on pie. And finished watching a Robert Deniro flick entitled the Intern, which was heartwarming, but didn't require much attention.
