To clarify -- as I wrote to peasant above. This is how I define extremist:
People who want to restrict or infringe upon others rights because their practices/rights offend their religious views/political views. And are willing to take action to do so via political or other means.
If you hurt others to further your own political/religious agenda, than you are extremist. Regardless of your self-interested justifications.
