Damn it, Fox, cancelled Lucifer. Next Week is the Series Finale

Okay, why is Fox renewing TV shows I find irritating and unwatchable and cancelling the one I like and was a bit different?

Oh well. I can't say I'm surprised. This season had problems.

But today is an annoying day entertainment wise.

I was irritated by several elements in the most recent season of Lucifer (in particular the 2 ill-conceived love triangles and the convoluted overall arc for the season), but I still thought it was going to be renewed and have a chance to rebound next year. I mean, the ratings weren't great, but they weren't completely awful either. The news has really bummed me out, especially after hearing that the season finale is going to end on a huge cliffhanger that'll never be resolved.

Completely agree with you.

The Pierce story line was ill-conceived and miscast. They needed someone as charismatic as Ellis in that role for it to work, not an actor who lacked screen chemistry with practically everyone and was colorless. Also, it's not a show that should have ever introduced one love triangle let alone two, and neither made much sense.

But, it was still enjoyable, and I thought it had a chance...to rebound. The ratings were better than other shows Fox renewed. I can't help but wonder if Fox is trying to change its brand. It's been cancelling a lot of cop/procedural related series.

I'm bummed about the lack of renewal as well -- and annoyed. I mean seriously, a cliff-hanger? I'm hoping CW or someone will make a last ditch effort to save it like NBC did with Brooklyn 9-9.
