information is contractual and negotiated. Nor do we know the arrangement

I think it's impossible to understand that situation fully without a lot
more information, and honestly? It's none of our business what jobs actors
take or don't or why. There could be a lot of factors -- that have zip to
do with money, which he really can't convey.
