To me, the thing that is supposedly the draw of the superhero books, the big fights, is most of the time actually a deterrant. Cause it's not what I buy the books for.
Yes. Exactly. I don't buy them for action or the big battles, battles tend to bore me most of the time. I want to see progression for the characters. I love the quiet moments. The moment the X-Factor team went to the psychiatrist. Or Scott and Jean got married. The picnic scenes.
The recent Spiderman movie is an excellent example - the best scenes in that movie are the quiet ones - with Peter and his Doctor, Peter and his Aunt...much more interesting than watching two people throw each other across a room and into buildings.
