As someone who has always lived "in the middle" of the US, yeah... hunker down, because it'll be over soon enough.
I grew up in Oklahoma; so did my parents. They made it to their 70s before any home they were living in actually got hit by a tornado.
I enjoyed the first Lady Trent memoir much more by the end than at the beginning, if that's any kind of encouragement. It's not a bad beginning, but things do get more interesting later on.
