Well, I don't know about anyone else? But I am tired. Would help if I slept better and went to be earlier and was able to take naps, also ate far less chocolate. I'm wired right now and want to run around the block, because a)I ate chocolate and b)I'm going through PMS and c) Anxiety, duh.
1. Happy Easter or Passover or Ramdan or Spring Solitice...for those who practice.
NBC to celebrate has chose to re-telecast it's award-wining live concert broadcast of Jesus Christ Superstar starring John Legend, and various others. I personally thought Judas, Sarah Bareilles as Mary Magadelen, and Pilot were the best things in it.
It's a pretty day at the moment. Overcast earlier. My mother and I often exchange descriptive passages about the weather. This is a long-standing practice and has zip to do with the current situation. I have not ventured outside - today. Decided to give my nerves a break. I've been outside enough this week.
So exercised inside - with squats, hand weights, wall pushups and wall squats, coffee table rises, lunges, running in place and various stretches. I've taken working out inside my apartment to a whole new level.
Forgot about the virtual belly dancing class at 3Pm today, in part because it came between telephone conversations. One was with Wales, who was worried about going stir crazy - pretty much like everyone else. We both decided that we envied the folks that live in the suburbs with houses, backyards, and most importantly washers and dryers. We've been washing things out in our sinks - procrastinating using the basement laundry facilities in our apartment buildings as long as possible.
Today I washed out my Cold Water Creek Jeans - which honestly probably work better via that method. It's sensitive material. As do the yoga pants. (I do not own sweat pants. Yoga pants yes, sweat pants no.) Now I smell like ECO Hand Washing Detergent.
Ordered my mother "hershey milk chocolate with almonds" bars on Amazon, the last pack of 12 bars. Some people are comforting themselves with banana bread and cupcakes, my family is doing the chocolate bars.
2. Did the whole church by Zoom operation at 11 am - it was a lovely service. Possibly the first service that I've seen in my church that actually discussed the resurrection since the previous minister left for better pastures (aka England).
The current one is on sabatical - so instead of a white woman heterosexual Jewish minister, we have a gay, black, Christian male minister. The sermon was all over the place - he's not the best at sermons. But I loved the music, also he shared a video of an empty mid-Town NYC. See, the part of NYC that most people are familiar with doesn't really have any "residents" living there - mainly tourists, business people and well businesses. People do live there, but no that many, and most are on the outskirts of the business and entertainment districts - which most tourists and news media do NOT visit. Which is why my neighborhood has traffic and folks wandering about, but Times Square is empty at the moment. Normally Times Square is packed, to the point that you can't move, and my neighborhood, well is moderately busy. Now, Times Square is empty and my neighborhood is just slightly less than moderately busy.
Zoom is interesting - you can do chat by text or audio, audio can be muted for everyone but the moderator, and you can opt to see everyone or just the people running the service. It also requires a password and a link now - although I get in today without the password - so either it was automatic or there was a fluke. I can't handle doing it all the time though - not sure how other people do it. There was a discussion group after church on Zoom that I opted out of - mainly because I wasn't exactly attending it prior to the virus (I found it to be stressful) AND I don't like discussing things on Zoom. It's funky. It's kind of like a visual conference call - and it makes me edgy.
3. The whole mask thing was starting to stress me out. Too much information. And half of it contradictory. This isn't a bad article on it. But if you can't cut or sew, you are kind of doomed.
Or know anyone who can do either. I do. But so far the only masks that I've received are the one's from Amazon and my Uncle in Ridely Park, PA. The ones from Amazon kind of fit. They are better than the bandana.
Wales got sewn ones via her sister in law. I'm going with the blue and white ones that everyone else is wearing. Assuming of course I am wearing them correctly. Is it blue on the outside or white on the outside? Half my apartment complex seems to be wearing those.
I kind of miss my old neighborhood - they have lines outside the grocery stores, and don't have disposable gloves and masks littering the streets. I know, it's a minor thing.
4. Half-way through Runaways, but kind of in the mood for a musical. May re-watch Greatest Showman, not certain. I taped Harry Potter, but may delete it. Did record both Easter Parade and Jesus Christ Superstar - plan on watch Jesus Christ Superstar live.
But I may wait.
Thinking of binging Veronica Mars next. I'm already spoiled so not an issue. I can't be disappointed because already know about it. I'm beginning to think that's the best way to go into television shows and movies - with low expectations and highly spoiled.
Would very much like some spoilers on the rest of this year, not to mention next, so I know when to duck and run for cover.
5. Oh - some kind soul decided to randomly give me 12 paid months of DW service. I'm not sure what to do with upgrade. Does this mean I can do polls and post photos without any issues, now?
Not that I particularly want to post any polls - those day are gone, but...
