Well, in 2016, Hillary led in all the nationwide polls. She was leading pretty much up to the email reveal. People voted for Trump because of the emails.

Don't pay any attention to the polls or the marketing. Also a lot can happen between now and November. Up until March - people thought it would Sanders vs. Warren. Biden surprised a lot of people. (I wanted Warren.) It wasn't what the polls had indicated.

To do a poll - they randomly select people based on a database. Not everyone is polled. And they ask really dumb questions and are really annoying. I know I've hung up on them, and I've been tempted to give the opposite of what I think.

Polls are what the campaigns use to figure out how to get donations and where to put their energy, but they are highly unreliable.
