shadowkatI took a walk around the cemetery around 2 pm. It was an hour and a half, roughly 2.7 miles. I was tired so couldn't get up the energy for more than that. Also, I had stop by the pharmacy for the diabetic meds. Another huge pill. I keep adding meds to my collection. I swear you get older - you start funding the pharmaceuticals. Or your insurance does. If I lose my insurance, I'm dead.
Also a mite chilly - in the mid sixties. So I put on a jacket. Got hot. Took it off. Got cold - put it back on. Decided next time to wear a long sleeve shirt or a sweater. There were guys wandering about sleeveless.
And I had a chat with Gabe via text message. Apparently NY has Home COVID Kits now - you can get one, get tested, send it back, and get results within two to three business days. They've been available for a while now. You just need to show that you've been exposed to the virus to get one. (I haven't so couldn't. )
Well, as you've most likely heard by now, the thing in the white house finally contracted COVID, it was only a matter of time. They are treating him with the antibody experimental treatment that has been used with mixed results. He's in the high risk category. 74, heart disease, high cholestrol, not enough exercise, obese.
Also the idiot refused to wear a mask.
This feels weirdly karmic or falling on the opposite side of the argument. Which we all do eventually.
New York vs. the Corona Virus
New York is panicking - it's viral rate is slowly inclining again. It's slightly above 1%.
The Commissioner of Health will issue a Section 16 order to local governments in hotspot areas setting specific consequences for failure to enforce State regulations related to social distancing, mask compliance, and capacity limitations. We need local governments to enforce health regulations to stop the spread of COVID-19 in clusters — it is their duty and legal obligation. This new order establishes a framework for reporting their enforcement activities and sets consequences for failure to enforce the emergency regulations. Failure to comply by localities can result in penalties up to $10,000 per day. - So are they really going to charge Brooklyn $10,000 a day for failing to enforce the mask wearing in its area, and how is it supposed to do so? Inquiring minds want to know? This worries me a little...because I'm not certain I want martial law. Idiots - wear masks.
2. We are closely monitoring New York's infection rate. Yesterday, there were 648 total hospitalizations. Of the 119,493 tests reported yesterday, 1,598, or 1.34 percent, were positive. 429 of these positives were from the 20 'hotspot' ZIP codes. Sadly, we lost seven New Yorkers to the virus.
[Yep, they are getting worried...it's going up. But they are also testing more people than before. What I want to know is how do they know that they aren't just testing the same ones over and over again, and adding a few along the way?]

Yesterday, New York launched a new Exposure Notification App so New Yorkers can help stop the spread of COVID-19 and receive exposure alert notifications without compromising privacy or personal information. 4. 27 percent of all positive cases yesterday were only from 20 hotspot ZIP codes. The Department of Health will have people on the ground in the hotspot ZIP codes today, including in Orange County, Rockland County, New York City and a small area in Nassau County.
