Yeah, there were a few episodes from Angel and Buffy, that I hated. I did not like the episode from Angel - "I Fall To Pieces", and I think the one you hated was Apocalypse Nowish? Not positive. Angel S4 was odd - every episode or scene that did not contain Cordelia worked. Actually Cordy's arc went off the rails when they gave her powers. She was more interesting without them. Also, there was a disagreement between Greenwalt and Whedon - partly due to religious convictions. Greenwalt is Jewish and religious, Whedon is angry Atheist. Greenwalt went with the PTB being benevolent beings, and not manipulative ass holes, and wanted a redemption arc for a classical hero. Whedon wanted pure noir, and didn't believe Angel or Cordy's redemption was possible, and balked at it. So when Greenwalt left and Whedon took over - guess what happened? Add to that - Whedon didn't like CC, and Greenwalt did. And the studio apparently had issues with Greenwalt and CC on Angel - and called Whedon in to fix it. (I got all this via Dochawk on the ATPO, whose best friend was Greenwalt's production assistant. Doc also told me everything that was going to happen in Angel S4 - and he was right. So, I was spoiled for most of it.) I think Tim Minear pretty much saved S4 Angel - his episodes are actually pretty good.
