So, I finally got tired of looking at all of the amazon boxes, and unpacked several of them. It was either that or build a fort. I'd been procrastinating the whole Christmas thing. According to my mother, my brother had too - and waited too long to get a tree. So ended up with a four foot tall tree - which annoyed his daughter. I think I win my family's contest though with the tiniest tree.
Put up the little Christmas Trees. One was easier than the other. I have three - one old one, whose lights don't work any longer and I'll probably ditch after the holidays (I got it dirt cheap from Wallgreens four years ago). The other two I bought online.
One just has lights and a burlap bag, it's actually a little bigger than the one that came with ornaments, a star and plug in lights - all separated from the tree. I had to adorn the little tree this morning with them, which was easier said than done. I think I did a tolerable job.

It also came with a little bag to put the Christmas tree in for storage, which I put beneath it.
Next up was the burlap bag which wasn't quite as high maintenance. I just had to straighten out the branches, put it in my window and plug it in.

And a picture of lit in my window at night, with the fairy lights and snow flake decals.

Also, I put up snowflake decals in my windows...which I'd bought.

And put together my Aero Garden - which is a low maintenance garden that will hopefully grow heirloom lettuce. Assuming I don't screw it up. The plus side - is the light is a bit like have a psuedo sun lamp in your kitchen. It gives off a glow that lights up the kitchen, which is always really dark. The kitchen looks out on a wall and gets very little direct sunlight.

It's supposed to germinate within 4-8 days, and inform me when it requires water or plant food. Also has a sun lamp timer, which goes off and on at various times.
I've never tried it before and got it on sale during black Friday.
I finally unboxed my brother's gift, which came in an Amazon Gift Bag. It's from my niece. (He has all his gifts from his daughter - which is technically from his family.) I normally wouldn't talk about it. But it's bigger than my Christmas tree.

Not to be put out, super got into the Christmas spirit as well, and finally put up the Christmas Tree in the lobby.

Had long conversations with mother and Wales today. She's okay. Lonely.
Most of her friends have drifted away during the pandemic. One's insane - he has become a follower of Qanon. (The crazy conspiracy theory cite that Trump put up to scam millions from his supporters for his legal defense fund. It's working - sorry to say, to date Trump has obtained over $400 million. Maybe NY can seize it and fund the MTA?)
We didn't talk about him. Wales can't without ranting.
Mother informed me that I was right about the Supreme Court, they did through out Texas' case. No one was interested in hearing it, and felt it was baseless and frivolous and Texas had no grounds. (That is everyone or rather no one but Clarence Thomas and Alito - the two idiots that Bush put on the bench. The three nominees by Trump, voted against hearing it. )
I think Thomas is just curious and bored, and interested in hearing anything?
Justices on the Supreme Court are odd apples. You can't quite predict what they will do at any given moment. Thomas this week wrote the majority opinion granting Muslim's the right to investigate and sue the FBI for putting them on the No Fly List without cause. People were kind of shocked that Thomas of all people wrote that decision and lead it.
Mother: according to your brother - a friend of his knows someone in Israel who believes Trump and Israel are in coohoots with Extra-Terristerials and keeping it quiet.
Me: Okay, that is disturbingly close to the back story of the science fiction novel I was writing in my head. (Actually everything that has happened roughly between 2015-2021 is disturbingly close to the back story of the sci-fi novel I was writing in my head. Kind of terrifying actually. Enough to give one nightmares. ) But other than that..
Mother: I don't think it's true.
Me: No. Unlikely. (Although if extra-terristerials were manipulating Trump, and he was in contact with them and they were keeping it under wraps, it would explain a few things. LOL!)
I've been off the news and the internet all day long. And my left shoulder doesn't hurt like it did yesterday. Hmmm.
Last night I made the acorn squash dish - the curry worked better than the squash. It tasted great with spinach feta chicken sausage.
Anyhow, I leave you with a rare self-portrait of me taking a photo of the decals in my kitchen.
