The world is giving me a headache. I played 2020 Game and got stuck on the Zoom section. I'm not great at the arrow keys, and I'm working off of a lap-top.
Started watching the All Creatures Great and Small Reboot on PBS, and have mixed feelings. I wish they'd gotten a slightly more attractive actor to play James Herriot. Yes, I'm apparently shallow, sorry.
Mother called - somewhat upset. Apparently my brother and Aunt can't come to her rescue next week. Partly due to COVID and partly due to logistical issues. Mostly a combination of both. She felt better talking to me - because I managed to convey that it wasn't personal, it was the situation.
And both parties really did want to help, but they just couldn't.
I want to hug my Mom so badly. And I'm so angry and frustrated. But alas, not a lot I can do but vent about it here.
I did reach out to an old college buddy. Read in the NY Times about a man who is writing his old college and high school buddies, along with various others - during the pandemic. A kind of Jane Austen hour. So on a whim, I decided to write to a close friend from college that I hadn't heard from in ages. Used an old email, and wasn't even sure she'd get it. Got a response tonight - she was pleased to hear from me, and very happy to hear that I was okay.
I'm trying to stay sane, and not let the three viruses that infected the globe infect me too - "hate", "misinformation", and "COVID".
I need to stop checking FB and Twitter for good news - I don't know why I think I'll find it there? There's a lot noise. I'll say that much.
Oh this also amused me... Someone is cut and pasting penauts cartoon characters and making classic rock videos - this one is the Peanuts characters singing Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall - honestly, seeing Charlie Brown sing Another Brick in the Wall is a whole new experience.
