Elvis would have been better than Beymer - he could dance and sing at least. Hepburn would have been a huge mistake though - Wood was better than Hepburn. The time period was problematic. Shame they couldn't get the actual folks on Broadway to do it. But the Broadway cast was deemed too old, apparently.
