It's been awhile since I thought about American Gothic. That was a good show. I loved that the devil wore flashy vests. I haven't actually seen Point Pleasant, online opinion seems so mixed.
I would agree also about Alias. I've enjoyed the episodes of Alias that I've seen, but I loved Nikita. Strange, dour, free falling show that it was.
And yes authors, they all have what I call, "rent books" i.e., the books that pay the rent. As long as they are marginally entertaining and not part of a gradual spiral into, sob, "What happened to you!" I don't begrudge the occasional less than stellar. After all, following the rent book could be the mind blower that writing the auto pilot story helped support.
