Y2/D243...Sunday Scaries..

Dreading going back en-mass to the office tomorrow. More and more folks are on the trains, less and less wearing masks. But it is what it is.
Meanwhile...mother went to church today - there were no masks, she sang in choir without a mask, because no one else was wearing one. While in my church - which I was watching via Facebook Live Stream - they were all wearing masks including in the choir, and only took them off for soloists, the pianist, or while giving a sermon - clearly six feet or more apart.
I think I'm going to have serious PTSD and culture shock when I visit mother in Hilton Head.
I also recently bought more masks - KN94, from Amazon. I've enough to make it halfway into 2022, I think.
Am I being silly? Mother thinks I am. Of course I do live in a city of over 12 million, we were hit hard by the pandemic, and I had this insane respiratory ailment from November 2019 to March 2020 - which involved getting a chest X-ray - I DO NOT WANT IT AGAIN.
Oh well, I'm about as safe as I can get and still work for nutty company.
Nutty company requires everyone to wear masks, and 87% is vaccinated, and a good percentage, including myself, have the booster. Plus, I only wear the KN94 and 95 masks at the moment.

Apparently there was a kerfuffle of sorts over blazers? One group was complaining about a fictional character's blazers and how unattractive said character looked in the blazers. The other, felt that they were bullying the actress for wearing blazers. No, they were critiquing the wardrobe department. When this was pointed out to them - they said that the actress picks her own blazers. I'm thinking, 1) the actress and character look horrid in blazers (anyone can see that) 2) the wardrobe dept either hates the character or is too cheap to remedy the situation, or has bad fashion sense, possibly all three. 3) if I can see that, there's a problem since I know nor care frak-all about fashion, 4) if you are a big busted broad shouldered woman - you look like crap in a blazer - let's face it they only look good on narrow-shouldered women with little to no chest. I gave up on them ages ago - got tired of the damn things being too short in the arms, riding up in the back and not fitting across the chest.
Doesn't this make you miss the Buffy fandom? I don't think these people would have survived the Buffy fandom.
Found this on Twitter tonight...it fits:

Fear. It's not as easy to conquer as it looks. Or rather some fears are more conquerable than others...and some most likely shouldn't be conquered at all?

Getting dark at four something is throwing me off. By the time I get used to this, it will be daylight savings time again. I wish they'd just pick one - instead of jumping back and forth.

After binge-watching television yesterday - didn't do much today. Watched church service on FB, talked to mother (who is trying hard not to fret over father), and went grocery shopping - briefly.) I should work on my novel - but my mind refuses to focus on it.
Finished the contemporary romance I was reading, now between books again..
I'm flirting with stuff, but no clue what I want to read. Need to find something to distract myself during tomorrow's commute.

Almost the end of 2021...and I'm dragging. But mother seems to be doing better at least, as does rest of the family. Although out of 20 some cousins, there's one who still refuses to be vaccinated.
Mother: Some members of our family make no sense.
Me: Well true, we have nutty family members.
Mother: No, most of them make sense but your cousin Scott doesn't. He won't get vaccinated. He also won't call his mother, or father. And they aren't permitted to call him - unless they text first. He lives five minutes away - and his wife's parents have visited multiple times (they do not live close by). But he's never or rarely visits his parents.
ME: Okay..what did Auntie do?
Mother: I don't know. She doesn't know. Also it's a problem for Thanksgiving - because he's afraid of being around anyone who has been vaccinated. His sister wants to see him - but he won't be around anyone who has been vaccinated for fear of getting the virus.
ME: He realizes that's kind of ass-backwards, right? That he's more likely to give them the virus than the other way around?
Mother: See, does that make any sense to you?
ME: He's nuts? I thought he was close to his sister -
Mother: He is.
ME: Must drive her nuts...
Mother: I'd think so.
ME: Okay, you made your point, I'm now grateful for my brother and immediate family - we may be a lot of things but at least we aren't crazy. Although I would like to point out that this from your side of the family..
Mother: No, it's my sister's.
The good news? I don't know this cousin. I've met them once and barely remember them. And it's unlikely I'll see them again. Also one out of over 30 cousins (stopped counting when they had kids), 15 some aunts and uncles, a brother, sisinlaw, niece, and parents. That's not bad. Could be worse.
