I may know the story oursin is referring to. I also read it a long time ago, & by now I don't remember the author or the title, but it was written long before what we know think of as virtual reality existed. The framing device was that the new warden was being shown around the prison where this kind of punishment was carried out. I agree, it's all about what you do w/the basic idea.

And now that you talked me into BG, I realized it's on a cable station I don't get. Wouldn'tcha know. What fooled me was that the premiere was shown on a broadcast station. Guess I'll have to wait for the DVDs...by the time they come out I might even have a DVD player.
