February Meme:
1. Do you think your country would change if everyone, regardless of age or any other current restriction, could vote? If yes, in what ways?
Not really. The difficulty is most people can vote but don't. I know, I've talked to them. And I can't say I've voted in every local election and primary either. The other difficulty is who is running for office, campaign donations, our media, etc.
In short voting is by no means the only problem we have. If it were, it wouldn't be a problem.
2. Is there a movie or TV show you can watch over and over again without tiring of it?
Well, Buffy, apparently. Also, I managed to re-watch Farscape. I do however eventually tire of it...I tired of Buffy after about the 10 or 15th rewatch. I now have it memorized and can't re-watch. Same thing happened with MASH actually. So maybe not? Depends on how many times I've rewatched it?
3. If an actor who is really well known for one role turns up in another film or TV show playing a different character, do you have trouble not seeing them as their more famous character?
Depends on the actor. Most are good enough to disappear into their roles. The ones who aren't - I rarely see in anything other than that role.
4. Regardless of your age, what "old person" thing(s) do you do?
Define old persons things?
5. Do you often get the hiccups? If yes, do you have a go-to cure for them?
Rarely. But I also meditate and know how to breath now. Hiccups have to do with irregularities in breathing or catches in the diaphragm. Cure - when I get them? Plugging my nose and drinking water - aka drowning myself. It jars the diaphragm and sets things right.
6. What's the best Wi-Fi name you've seen?
Alligator
7. What was the last funny video you watched?
I don't tend to remember them? And nothing recently? It was probably a cat video.
8. Which current or at least recent news story is the most interesting to you?
I finding the whole Ottawa Convoy Standoff kind of amusing. Canadians who live in Ottawa (and are on Twitter) are really upset with how the NY Times is covering it - inappropriately and apparently inaccurately.
9. Would you rather ask for help with a difficult task, or figure it out for yourself?
Figure it out myself - although within about five-ten minutes of realizing that I can't figure it out - I'm off to asking for help with it, any how.
10. What do you think is the best sitcom (current or past)?
MASH - which wasn't really one to be honest. Let's face it I don't like sitcoms. I liked Cheers - but it was on too long.
11. What do you think is the most overrated movie?
Citizen Kane
Really no contest. Male film geeks love it - I've no clue why. But they do.
12. Who would you most like and least like to be stuck in an elevator with?
Someone who can repair the elevator or get it running again.
Someone who is claustrophobic and doesn't like elevators...namely like me.
13. What was the last song you listened to of your choosing? What was the last song you heard that was imposed on you (e.g. background music at a store, in someone else's car, etc.)?
Down So Low by Ellen Mcllwaine (randomly chosen by my Apple Music library songlist) - so chosen depends on your point of view.
I have no idea what the song was - it was at work, in the cubicle behind me, and annoying as all get out.
14. Do you play mobile games on your phone? If yes, what is the most addictive game you've played?
REDECORATE - its a game where you redecorate rooms, earn virtual stars, cash, gold to put towards the next design. And it gets voted on by other players online with names like fairystar, and lickmyballs, and sarah200.
15. Do you text more or call more? Why?
Text (unless it's work or my mother - than call). Kind of self-explanatory.
16. Most important in a partner or best friend: intelligence or sense of humour?
Based one experience? Sense of humor, the friendship tends to last longer. Best? To have a shared sense of humor, and shared level intelligence. Imbalances never fare well.
17. February 17 is "Random Acts of Kindness Day". What random act of kindness would you like someone to perform for you?
My boss did something this week - that surprised me. He helped me get an addendum completed - after the lawyer decided to change the formatting on me at the last minute. (I'm dyslexic, and the lawyer created a table to insert all the questions, which I'd written out in number form on the page. He decided that they all needed to be put in a table now. So my boss, kindly put them in the table for me without saying a word.)
What did I do? I gave black tea to a co-worker - who had run out. And provided KN95 masks to boss, and two coworkers, after asking another manager for them.
18. What are you going to do this weekend?
So far? Taxes (done), grocery shopping (sigh constant), bake cookies (hee!), make soup (maybe), take a walk, watch The Expanse.
19. Would you rather have all your meals prepared for you, but not have any say in the menu (outside of certain dietary restrictions e.g. allergies), or sleep eight hours every night, but not get to choose your bedtime?
Neither? I'd pick having my meals prepared. I don't sleep well when it is dictated.
20. What makes you roll your eyes every time you hear/see it?
"It's my personal choice whether I get vaccinated or wear a mask during a global pandemic."
21. When was the last time you got to tell someone "I told you so!"?
This week. Actually with my work place it's kind of constant. I bite my tongue a lot of the time.
22. If someone narrated your life, who would you want to be the narrator?
Either Tina Fey or Sandra Bullock
23. Is there something that you're interested in that most people aren't?
Define most people?
24. What was cool when you were young, but really isn't cool now?
Tape decks/ player, CD players, VCR players, or anything regarding taped music and film.
25. What is the least inspiring/interesting meal you've eaten?
Fish sticks, which I thankfully can no longer eat.
26. What really needs to be modernized?
Roads and highways, also cars
27. "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!" Do you believe hardship make a person stronger? If so, under what conditions and at what point is it too much hardship? If not, what makes a person stronger?
Depends on the hardship and the individual and the environment. I'm not certain surviving a shark attack makes anyone particularly stronger for example. Or surviving a bad sky dive and having to be on a catheter the rest of your life.
28. What's invisible, but you wish people could actually see it?
God
