Oh I'm not, just found it kind of entertaining and interesting. I can't decide if it was a plea for attention (certainly comes across that way), or a sense of existential angst (why am I doing this? what is the point?), or a fear of over-exposure.

From what I've read about Lucas - Star Wars was meant to be his satiric take on the Vietnam War. (LOL!) But Lucas isn't good at either satire or well doing that sort of thing, and no one picked up on it. (I can sort of see it - if I squint at it sideways.) So he had something to say, he's just not all that articulate.

It works very well for kids though. As a kid - I adored Star Wars. It was the first non-scary sci-fi film that I saw. (everything else had some sort of alien monster threat - Alien came out the same year as Star Wars did, or thereabouts). Also first one with a strong lead female character who wasn't there for sex appeal. (Well at least not until the beginning of Return of the Jedi.)

There's some good Star Wars stuff now - but oddly it's stuff that doesn't focus on the Skywalker clan. Anything that does not focus on the first three films or is more about the world, is actually pretty good. Rogue One kind of does, but for the most part - it's its own standalone film, and among the better efforts. So too is the Mandalorian. It's when they get too close to the original three films, they kind of get muddled. I'm not quite sure why that is - it may be because Star Wars has become rather iconic, or bigger than life in the minds and hearts of those who saw it and the media, so anything will feel like a let-down in regards to that fannish devotion. And people, or so I've noticed, tend to get fannish about things that aren't necessarily well crafted.
